About MIKI..
- Miki Levenson is licensed in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Herbology by the state of California and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, National certification obtained by NCCAOM. She earned her Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.
- After graduating from Acupuncture school, I decided that I wanted to study more of the profundity of oriental medicine. I visited a number of famous practitioners and asked to observe their practice.
I had the good fortune to observe Edward Obaidey Sensei in his practice in Tokyo. He became my teacher and due to his generosity I am privileged to be able to observe his treatments at his clinic whenever I go back to Japan.
It was through seeing Edward Sensei’s devoted practice that I learnt that we should not focus on the disease itself but rather on the patient when treating in the clinic. Through his influence, I endeavour to fully utilise my abilities for each treatment.
I was also fortunate to be able to attend Masakazu Ikeda Sensei’s Seminar who is also Edward Sensei’s teacher. He is a man of vast clinical experience (55 years) and learning. Since that time, I have attended many of sensei's seminars, observed his practice and read his books and commentaries on the classics. This has allowed me to further my studies of acupuncture, moxibustion and Chinese herbal Medicine.
In order to perform good treatment, it is important to be able to diagnose and treat using the underlying theories of Oriental Medicine. I am determined to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible to be able to do this effectively.
In addition, I completed a Chinese Medicine Dermatology Program taught by Dr. Jia Ling Yu. After this I was fortunately able to observe and study at her clinic.
No matter how much experience they have, my teachers are always humble and spare no effort to improve. This spurs me on to develop as a practitioner so that I am better able to help my patients.
